Educational Programs

Pre-registration is required. Some programs are free of charge and others have a minimal fee to pay for materials or speakers.  To receive printed materials, you must register prior to the deadline and attend the educational presentation. Long-Term Care Considerations for Loved Ones – February 9, 2017

How do you match the needs of your loved one to the best long-term care option available?  Joan Schmitz from the Board on Aging will share common factors which lead to making the most informed long-term care decisions.  Health diagnosis, cognitive status and financial solvency can play a role in this tough decision for families.

Intra-National Meeting: Vermont – March 2, 2017

Vermont’s name comes from the French les verts monts “the Green Mountains” which in 1609 Samuel de     Champlain explored and named. The Green Mountain range forms a north-south spine running most of the length of the state. On the west of Vermont is Lake Champlain running 120 miles and is the sixth-largest body of fresh water in the United States. The whole state is only 80 miles wide and 160 miles long.

Nature in the Classroom – April 27, 2017

Lac Lawrann Conservancy is a nature   preserve with ponds, wetlands, prairie, and forest features.  Come join us for a guided nature tour and educational session just minutes from the PAC building.

Paper Creations – October 5, 2017

Do you enjoy different kinds of classic crafts? Experience the art of origami and iris paper folding led by our own talented HCE members. Participants will travel to a variety of stations to create each type of project…from frogs to birds.

Whole Grain Goodness – November 2. 2017

7:00 P.M., PAC, West Bend, Room 1113 A&B

What is a whole grain? What food products contain whole grains? Learn the importance of including whole grains in your meals and how to navigate the gluten free world. Participants will sample a variety of whole grain recipes as well.
