Through a presentation and panel discussion, participants will learn how TIFs are used by local communities as a tool for economic development. This workshop can help bridge the knowledge/experience gap and increase confidence for those who will make decisions affecting their community for years to come.
Brian Ohm will cover the history and purpose of Tax Increment Financing (TIF) and address common misconceptions surrounding the use of TIFs. Brian is a Professor and Extension Planning Law Specialist in the Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture at the University of Wisconsin-Madison/Extension.
