Archery

Archery (recurve, compound, longbow) is open to all members that are in 3rd grade and 8 years old through grade 13. Equipment is available to use in classes or you can use your own equipment with certified leader equipment approval. Classes held in January – March. Project fee required.

Air Rifle

.177 air rifle is not a powder burning project therefore is open to all members that are in 3rd grade and 8 years old through grade 13. Equipment is available to use in classes. or you can use your own equipment with certified 4-H leader approval. No scopes are allowed. Classes held January – March. Project fee required. 

Rifle (.22)

Members must be 12 years old and must have their own .22 rifle and equipment. THEY MUST HAVE COMPLETED HUNTER SAFETY. Classes held in April & May. Fee required.

Air Pistol

Washington County 4-H Shooting Sports provides an introduction to basic air pistol shooting. Safety rules and procedures are paramount. Youth need to be 12 years old (minimum) and have a valid hunter safety certificate. Members must provide their own equipment. No scopes allowed and must have open sights ONLY. Pistols must be able to shoot in single fashion. Fee required. Project dates to be determined.

Shotgun

Members must be 12 years old and must have their own shotgun equipment and MUST HAVE COMPLETED HUNTER SAFETY. Classes held in April & May. Fee required.

Members must be 12 years old and must have their own muzzleloader and muzzleloading equipment and MUST HAVE COMPLETED HUNTER SAFETY. Classes held in April & May.

Wildlife WHEP (Wildlife Habitat Education Program) and Wisconsin 4-H Forestry

Members enrolled in any of the Natural Resource and Environmental Education projects (Adventures, Bees, Bicycling, Birds, Entomology (Insects), Exploring Your Environment, Fishing, Flowers, Forestry, Recycling, Water, Wildflowers, Wildlife, Wildlife Habitat) are encouraged to participate in the countywide activity Wildlife WHEP and Wisconsin 4-H Forestry. WHEP is not a project you enroll in, but a countywide activity you participate in. It is open to all members regardless of what project they are enrolled in. Meetings January – April. There is a Wildlife and Forestry Contest as well as a Wildlife And Forestry ART CONTEST held each spring.
